Michael J. Griffith Sr., 49 of Nottingham died on Thursday, Nov. 6, at his home.Raised in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late James E. Griffith, Sr. and Betty Lou (Pennington) Griffith, of Quarryville.
Mr. Griffith was honorably served his country in the Air Force.
A truck driver, he was employed by A. Duie Pyle. He was a member of VFW Post 1628 and American Legion Post 194, both of Rising Sun, Md. He enjoyed watching basketball and football, cooking, building model planes and gardening.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Tacara A. Griffith, and one son, Michael J. Griffith Jr., both of Nottingham; four sisters, Marlene Wilkinson of Landenberg, Sharon Roman of Nottingham, Susan Crossan of West Grove and Sandra Petro of Nottingham.
He was predeceased by his father and his brother, James E. Griffith, Jr.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, West Grove.
